Does Economic Growth Reduce Child Malnutrition ?
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper analyses the impact of economic growth on the incidence of chronic child malnutrition using data on spells of change. Growth is found to have a significant but small effect on chronic child malnutrition except in Sub-Saharan Africa, where it does not seem to have any impact. The estimates imply that outside of Africa, a doubling of income will reduce the incidence of chronic child malnutrition by 5-10 percentage points. JEL-codes: I1, I3, O1

An Analysis of Integrated Child Development Scheme Performance in Contributing to Alleviation of Malnutrition in Two Economically Resurgent States

This chapter argues that growth is good, but is not enough to improve nutrition. During the early stages of development, growth helps reduce the ...
متن کاملWhy malnutrition in shining India persists*
